Aisyah

“Music is my purpose, a way for me to connect with the listeners through storytelling,” said Brunei-based R&B producer and singer/songwriter Aisyah. “If I can make even the smallest impact in someone’s life, whether to help them grieve, celebrate, or guide them through making an important decision in their lives, then I know I’m fulfilling my purpose.” Her debut EP, Head in the Clouds, provides just that – with dreamy instrumentals, soulful melodies and smooth beats, her lyricism expresses emotional confrontations that reflect on the particular stories expressed in each track. Aisyah first broke into the music industry through Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions in Los Angeles and was recognised for being the first Bruneian to work in the American film music industry. She has been involved in numerous projects including Walt Disney Pictures’ “Christopher Robin”, Netflix’s “Daybreak”, and Marvel’s “Cloak & Dagger”, then soon found her calling with songwriting and producing when she wrote the score to James Abrams’ short film “Walls”, which included writing and producing the song Memories specifically for the film. Inspired by artists like Raveena, Sabrina Claudio, Snoh Aalegra and Jhené Aiko, Aisyah weaves colourful ambient textures with her beat making and luscious vocals to enhance the tales she tells in her music.
