After recently coming off of Joey Bada$$’s World Domination tour and a current nomination for XXL’s Freshman List, NYC-based hip hop prodigy, Bishop Nehru, announces brand new single, ‘$acred Visions, from his upcoming eleven track mixtape ‘Magic 19’, out this June 3rd.
It’s been almost a year since the release of the Nehruvian EP, in that time Bishop has been evolving his sound, merging the golden age feel that Bishop has become synonymous with a more mature flow. ‘Sacred Visions’ is the perfect introduction to the artist to date while also hinting at the current experimentation of sound on new mixtape ‘Magic 19.’ Speaking on the mixtape, Bishop says, “lately, I’ve been evolving. True evolution. New flows, new sounds.”
In 2013 Bishop released his critically-acclaimed debut mixtape ‘Nehruvia’ (which included collaborations with hip-hop’s finest producers including the likes of Madlib & DJ Premier). Three years later, the most exciting new voice in hip-hop has continued to prove critics, consistently establishing one of the most exciting sounds in music. From releasing a joint album with rap heavyweight MF DOOM, being heralded as the next generation of pure talent in hip-hop by the likes of Kendrick Lamar & working with the likes of Disclosure, Little Dragon & Flight Facilities, the 19-year-old rising star has shot through the ranks as 2016’s most promising new talents.
