Bobby Page & The Riff-Raffs

The Riff Raffs were a group from Lafayette, LA, that played New Orleans-styled rock and R&B in the late '50s and early '60s. Several of the musicians in the group recorded as solo artists for the Ram label, including singer Bobby Page, singer/pianist Roy Perkins, tenor saxophonist Jimmy "Scatman" Patin, and saxophonist Harry Simoneaux. As singer in Bobby Page & the Riff Raffs, Page did a single in 1958, "Hippy Ti Yo"/"Loneliness," and another in 1962, "Like Twist"/"Tired of Hanging Around." Like the records of everyone in the Riff Raffs, these were typical and rather generic New Orleans-styled rock, with the raucous adaptation of the Cajun song "Hippy Ti Yo" being the highlight.
