A hard-hitting metalcore unit based out of New Orleans, Louisiana,
Cane Hill's punishing blend of post-hardcore and nu-metal draws from a deep well of divergent influences, from
Pantera and
Slipknot to hip-hop and indie rock. Founded in 2014 by vocalist Elijah Witt, guitarist James Barnett, bassist Ryan Henriquez, and drummer
Devin Clark, the band cut its teeth on the road, sharing stages with contemporaries like
the Hollywood Undead,
the Acacia Strain,
blessthefall, and
For the Fallen Dreams. They eventually inked a deal with
Rise Records and released an eponymous debut EP in 2015. The following year the group issued its first full-length outing,
Smile, again via
Rise, and in 2018 they dropped their sophomore effort,
Too Far Gone. ~ James Christopher Monger
