Born in Baltimore, Maryland he grew up in Westport, one of Baltimore City’s low income areas located on the south side. Being on the Westport side of the Cherry Hill/ Westport line, street smarts was embedded in his brain early in life due to the ongoing conflict between two connecting neighborhoods. At the age of 10 he became involved in freestyles that took place in the school cafeteria with the use of his quick wit and since of humor. From that point on rap was his passion. While growing up he would never leave out of the house without a set of dice in his pocket which led to the nick name DICE. The dollar sign came about while he was sitting around listening to Mase trying to figure out a way to be unique. As he asked family and friends what D-I-$-E spelled he continued to get the same answer, DICE. He was now Di$e, later on he would come up with a meaning for his name, due to the struggles he went through in his life, he would always keep going no matter how his luck was. “No matter how my luck is I keep rolling” became his meaning.
