Known for his rugged good looks as well as his voice, Jencarlos is a Latin pop singer from Miami who made his Top Five hit album debut in 2009 after rising to fame as a telenovela actor on Telemundo. Born Jencarlos Canela on April 21, 1988, in Miami, Florida, he graduated from the New World School of the Arts in 2006 and found work as an actor. While he found work in commercials and stage musicals, he was most successful as a telenovela actor, appearing in the Telemundo productions Pecados Ajenos (2007), Doña Bárbara (2008), and Más Sabe el Diablo (2009), the latter of which featured him in a starring role. Concurrent to the success of Más Sabe el Diablo, Jencarlos made his full-length solo album debut with Búscame (2009). The album includes the theme song of Más Sabe el Diablo, "Amor Quédate," which was released as the lead single. Produced and written almost entirely by Rudy Pérez, Búscame was a big hit upon its release, reaching number two on the Billboard Latin Albums chart. Canela followed the album up with the single "Mi Corazón Insiste," and the album Un Nuevo Día in 2011. © Jason Birchmeier /TiVo
