Julien Chauvin is a French violinist and conductor. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and worked with
Vera Beths,
Wilbert Hazelzet,
Jaap ter Linden, and
Anner Bylsma. A specialist in historical performance practices,
Chauvin reestablished the 18th century ensemble Le Concert de la Loge Olympique, later changing the name to Le Concert de la Loge, a group that specializes in Baroque, Classical, and Romantic works played on period instruments.
Chauvin is also a co-founder of
Le Cercle de l'Harmonie and a member of the Cambini Quartet in Paris. He has recorded for Aparte, Naïve, and Eloquentia.
