Leonard Rosenman

American composer Leonard Rosenman first studied to be a painter, but after serving with the Air Force in WW II, he became more interested in music, and became the protégé of distinguished avant-garde composer Arnold Schoenberg. Rosenman won Academy Awards for his adapted scores for Barry Lyndon (1975) and Bound for Glory (1976). In addition to composing and adapting film scores, he also composed works for choirs, and chamber orchestras; Rosenman also composed a one-act opera.
