Music on Hold

New wave devotees Music On Hold make neon-colored synthesizer songs for the post-millennial era. Their debut album, 30 Minutes Of, appeared in 2021.
Hailing from Paris, France, Music On Hold began as the solo project of the group's main songwriter, Emile Cartron-Eldin. He released a series of homemade cassette EPs under the moniker in the late 2010s (including Alpha Tape, Beta Tape, and Gamma Tape), which were soon compiled on full-length releases by Parisian label Gone with the Weed. Born Bad Records took note, remastering some of the tracks to accompany original songs on the band's official debut album. Along the way, Guillaume Mobstaire and the mononymous Mathis (Skategang, Police Control) joined Music On Hold's lineup as official members. The accurately titled 30 Minutes Of arrived on Born Bad in February 2021. ~ Marcy Donelson
