Nameless Crime

Nameless Crime

Proving once again that everything goes well with pizza, Nameless Crime are a heavy metal band based in Naples, Italy, whose complex but tasty blend of toppings includes traditional, power, thrash, and progressive metal. The band's crispy crust first began taking shape circa 1998, when erstwhile Atomic Child members Alessandro Tuccillo (guitar), Raffaele Lanzuise (bass), and Dario Graziano broke away and were rounded out with former Landguard members Marco Ruggiero (guitar; also of Stormwind) and Michele Sorrentino (vocals). Thus prepared, the quintet popped its first demo out of the oven in the year 2000 and, after Sorrentino's replacement by Fabio Manda for 2001's Live in the Studio demo, secured a deal with Nocturnal Music for the release of its eponymous debut in 2003. But lackluster sales soon threw Nameless Crime back out on "independent" street for 2004's Backdraft EP, and despite earning their way back into a deal (this time with Powerzone Records) for 2006's Law and Persecution album, the band's lineup would crumble like so much finely chopped mozzarella shortly thereafter. When they finally re-emerged in 2009, Nameless Crime had undergone significant stylistic and personnel changes, moving closer to an alternative metal recipe reminiscent of Faith No More under the direction of veteran members Lanzuise and Graziano (now playing keyboards), alongside new arrivals Dario Guarini (vocals), Maddalena Bellini (guitar), and Daniele Ciao (drums). ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
