Riz

Atlanta, Georgia-based singer/songwriter Riz is known for her atmospheric contemporary R&B and neo-soul. She grew up listening to 80’s soul and 90’s R&B, but Riz drew comparisons to Marsha Ambrosius and Lauryn Hill. Easily identified by her smooth, distinctive vocals she has crafted a sound that is virtually her own. The singer/songwriter made inroads in 2018 when she stopped modeling suddenly to pursue a career as a vocalist. She recorded and released her debut single “Text Messages” in August (2019). She then followed that up with the melodic-piano laced track “Dark Outside” in March (2020). She then followed this release with a track that is synonymous with the current climate of race relations in the U.S. titled “Lonely Road”.
Born Charisma Green in Bronx, New York, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, in a music family, Riz the oldest of her four sisters spent her childhood listening to her parents' multigenre and multigenerational record collection.
