With their self-titled 7" release that came out in the spring of 2000, the Riff Randells had the chance to package their brand of punk-pop that looked up to
the Ramones, Joan Jet, and
the Smugglers. Originally consisting of
Sean (vocals), Anne-Marie (drums/vocals), Kathy (guitar/vocals), and Stacy (bass/vocals), the band would eventually narrow down to a three-piece after
Sean left to join a Buddhist retreat and Kathy took over on lead vocals. That same year, Mint Records followed with the Riff Randals second EP Who Said Girls Can't Rock! A self titled CD EP followed in 2001 for Delmonico Records, although the line up changed once more - the bass slot now being filled by Justin. No strangers to touring, the Riff Randalls next year included a US tour with plans for an UK tour and single in 2003. ~ Mike DaRonco
