Barcelona's political garage punk combo
Tokyo Sex Destruction draws inspiration from bands like
the Make-Up,
Nation of Ulysses,
International Noise Conspiracy, and, especially,
MC5. The quartet -- which consists of drummer/singer/organ player JC Sinclair, bassist/vocalist SF Sinclair, and guitarists/vocalists RR and RJ Sinclair -- all adopted the surname of John Sinclair, the legendary band's manager and founder of the White Panther Party. The group earned a following in Europe before taking their explosive music stateside with their full-length debut,
Le Red Soul Communitte, which Dim Mak released in spring 2003. ~ Heather Phares
