California metal band Machine Head return with their ninth studio record, Catharsis. The album follows 2014's
Bloodstone & Diamonds and was recorded at Oakland's Sharkbite Studios by Zack Ohren (Fallujah, Immolation), who also co-produced the record alongside the band's lead vocalist and guitarist, Robb Flynn. Catharsis opens with the track "Volatile," which was written and recorded on the day of the Charlottesville clashes. ~ Bekki Bemrose
