Scarlatti & Berio, Schubert & Widmann: Historische Komponisten im Dialog mit zeitgenössisch-modernen. Luciano Berios Bezüge zu Scarlatti und Jörg Widmanns Schubert-Hommage werden von Andrea Lucchesini mit historischen Originalkompositionen kontrastiert, wobei Original und Referenz zu einem neuen Ganzen verwoben werden. Die Nähe relevanter Komponisten der Gegenwart zu historischen Kompositionsstilen verdeutlicht gleichermaßen eigenständige Neuerungen und Abgrenzungen sowie die Fortführung und Anbindung an die Vergangenheit. Berio und Widmann sind beide in die neue Aufnahme eingebunden: Lucchesini und Berio pflegten zu Lebzeiten des Komponisten eine enge persönliche Beziehung. Jörg Widmann schrieb einen eigenen Text für die neue Produktion und ist Andrea Lucchesini ebenfalls verbunden.
Andrea Lucchesini gehört zu den führenden italienischen Pianisten der Gegenwart. Der Gewinn des internationalen Wettbewerbs Dino Ciani bereits in jungen Jahren war der Beginn seiner internationalen Konzertkarriere. Seither tritt er weltweit mit führenden Orchestern unter namhaften Dirigenten und in Solorecitals auf. Sein Interesse gilt vor allem auch der zeitgenössischen Musik. Berios Echoing Curves wurde von Lucchesini uraufgeführt, ebenso begleitete er die Entstehung der Sonata, Berios letztes Werk für Soloklavier. Seit 1990 widmet sich der Pianist in verschiedensten Formationen verstärkt auch der Kammermusik, insbesondere in der engen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Cellisten Mario Brunello und dem Quartetto di Cremona. © Audite
