Ludomir Różycki (1883–1953) came from a musical family. Mother, musically talented, studied at the conservatory in Warsaw. Father was a professor of that conservatory. Well-known personalities of the musical world would pay a visit at his home, including Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Zygmunt Noskowski, Emil Młynarski, or Stanisław Barcewicz. The artistic atmosphere must have had an influence on the composer’s life path. This album covers both known and less recognisable works of Różycki. In addition to the compositions inspired by Polish literature and history (symphonic poems Boleslaus the Bold and Stanisław Wyspiański), the album also contains the Piano Concerto in G minor No. 1, well-known and willingly performed by pianists. © Dux Records
