The Blue Hour is the Italian pianist and composer's second release following his 2014 debut, The Houseboat and the Moon. On this self-produced sophomore effort, the Berlin-based artist has built on the contemporary classical leanings of his first record for a piano-led collection that also incorporates an economical, yet significant, use of synthesizers. The outcome of the marriage is similar in style to the minimalist output of Nils Frahm. ~ Bekki Bemrose
