Singer, Songwriter and pop culture icon Bebe Buell is gearing up for the release of her latest record, Baring It All: Greetings From Nashbury Park. The 12 song album, her fourth full length disc and most personal effort to date, was recorded in Buell's two favorite music cities, Nashville, TN and Asbury Park, NJ.
Bebe's musical career began with her first release, "Covers Girl" (1981- Rhino Records) produced by Ric Ocasek and Rick Derringer. It was a four song EP featuring The Cars backing her on two of the tracks. She formed her first band, the B-Sides, and started playing live shows around the USA. In 1985 she then formed a tougher group called The Gargoyles. They released the influential indie singles "Jacuzzi Jungle" and "Gargoyle" and toured heavily. They caught the ear of Joey Ramone, who had the band open for The Ramones. In 1994, Bebe released her first full length album, “Retrosexual”. In 2009 came “Sugar” and the critically acclaimed “Hard Love” in 2012.
For years Bebe has been considered by insiders as one of music’s “Best Kept Secrets” and has earned a loyal and steady following. She counts several of rock and country music’s biggest names among her fans, performing sold-out concerts in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville.
Singing, dancing and wailing on harmonica, she has often been called “the female Mick Jagger” and the “Mother of Rock N’ Roll”. Bebe’s electrifying performances always leave her audiences feeling inspired and elated.
