The Clare College Choir, Cambridge is one of the world's leading choral groups, founded in 1866 as an ensemble of men and boys. In 1966, the group dropped its boys' voices, and in 1971 it became a mixed choir under the direction of Peter Dennison, who led it from 1971 to 1975. He was succeeded in 1975 by John Rutter, who was director until 1979, when Timothy Brown began his tenure, which lasted until 2010. Since 2010, the choir has been conducted by Graham Ross. The Clare College Choir, Cambridge has recorded extensively for Harmonia Mundi, but it has also appeared on Naxos, Albion, Regis Records, and several other labels.
