The South Korean K-pop singer G.NA was born Gina Jane Choi in Edmonton, Canada in 1987. After signing to the record label Good Entertainment, Choi was all set to make her debut as the leader of an all-girl group created by the label called Five Girls. Unfortunately the label found itself in financial difficulties and the plug was pulled on the Five Girls project rendering Choi unemployed. She subsequently joined Cube Entertainment and re-launched her stalled career by releasing a duet with the young male singer called Jung Ji-hoon better known as Rain. The duo's single titled 'Aeini Saenggimyeon Hago Sipeun Il' ('Things I Want to Do When I Have a Lover') went to number 13 in the charts and paved the way for the release of the singer's debut solo EP 'Draw G's First Breath' in 2010 which reached number ten in the charts. After releasing a series of successful singles and with her career taking off, the artist became embroiled in a damaging high-profile media scandal involving allegations of prostitution which led to her contract with Cube Entertainment not being renewed. Her final record release was the 2015 single 'Don't Cry' which didn't break into the charts. © ©Copyright Music Story 2020
