KIOL is a London based songwriter, musician and producer born in 1997 in Turin (IT). His songs are full of pop melodies, alternative folk and soul rhythms and he has been influenced by artists like Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon and Paolo Nutini.
When in 2016 he moved to Ireland for the summer school he was just a drummer. During this period he has been encouraged to sing by some Irish fellas who started calling him “CEOL”, pronounced “KIOL”, that means MUSIC in Gaelic. That’s the moment when Kiol took the road of songwriting. From his first EP “I COME AS I AM”, released with Warner Music Benelux on the 6th of January 2017, he played more than 100 gigs around europe. His second single “HARD THINGS”, has been produced at the Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland by Paolo Nutini’s producer. In February 2018 he has been invited by Natalie Imbruglia to open her UK tour and he already shared the stage with many international acts as Placebo, Patty Smith, Joan Baez, Editors, Tom Speight, The Dire Strait Experience and many others.
In 2019 he worked in London with Dimitri Tikovoi (Placebo, Blondie, Goldfrapp) to produce new singles. Among these, there is “Mallow”, the song dedicated to the Irish village where everything started….
Kiol né en 1997 à Turin (Italie), est un compositeur, musicien et producteur basé à Londres. Ses chansons aux mélodies pop, mélangeant folk alternatif et rythme soul témoignent de l’influence de certains artistes tels que Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon et Paolo Nutini.
Il n’était encore que batteur lorsque qu’il déménage en Irlande en 2016. Là, encouragé par un groupe d’Irlandais, il commence à chanter. Ils le surnommaient ‘’CEOL’’, prononcé ‘’KIOL’’, qui signifie ‘’MUSIC’’ en gaélique. C’est à ce moment là que Kiol prend le chemin de la chanson. Depuis son premier EP ‘’I COME AS I AM’’ sorti le 6 janvier 2017 et édité par Warner Music Benelux, il a fait plus de 100 concert en Europe. Son deuxième single ‘’HARD THINGS’’ est produit en Irlande au Studio Grouse Lodge par Paolo Nutini. En février 2018, Natalie Imbruglia l’invite à ouvrir sa tournée UK alors qu’il avait deja partagé la scène avec de nombreux artistes internationaux tels que Placebo, Patty Smith, Joan Baez, Editors, Tom Speight, The Dire Strait Experience et bien d’autres.
Depuis 2019, à Londres, il travaille sur la production de nouveaux singles avec Dimitri Tikovoi (Placedo, Blondie, Goldfrapp). Entre autres, ‘’Mallow’’, hommage au village Irlandais où tout a commencé…
