Musically, Ruiz de Robledo is only known through his "Luz y norte musicale" which includes information concerning the introductory practices and methods for playing the guitar and harp as well as discourses contending with music in general. He advanced the Spanish tuning for the five course guitar and compositions contained in this compendium include works by Ruiz de Robledo, Sanz, Lorente and del Vado.
